The oldest established all party group in parliament for environmental issues, the Environment APPG was established to strengthen the influence of parliamentarians on public policy and provide a forum for debate as well as access to specialist information.
Our activities span across three broad themes:
The Chair of the group is Andrew Pakes MP, and the secretariat is provided by Green Alliance. Its membership is made up of parliamentarians, businesses and organisations.
Secretariat is provided by Green Alliance, an independent think tank and charity focused on ambitious leadership for the environment. Green Alliance is an independent think tank and charity focused on ambitious leadership for the environment. Since 1979, we have been working with the most influential leaders in business, NGOs and politics to accelerate political action and create transformative policy for a green and prosperous UK.
The All Party Parliamentary Group brings together a broad range of MPs and Peers led by Andrew Pakes MP and a cross-party team of Vice Chairs.
Our Parliamentary Supporters endorse the Environment APPG and its aim of strengthening environmental ambition in Parliament. They do not necessarily agree with all the policies, opinions, and outputs of the Environment APPG.
Our work is funded by our associate members on an annual basis, but it's important to note that not every output of the Environment APPG necessarily reflects the views of our members.
