Environment APPG continues adaptation inquiry with second session in May

18 May 2026

Continuing the adaptation inquiry, the Environment APPG is hosting its second oral evidence session in Parliament in May. The second evidence session will take place on Monday 18th May from 16:00 – 17:00 and will follow a select committee style approach. The focus of this session will be securing food and adapting UK nature, with witnesses including practitioners and experts from the Nature Friendly Farmers Network, the Soil Association, Kew Gardens, and the Woodland Trust.

Farmers specifically are being impacted by extreme weather like droughts and floods causing reduced crop yields, damaged soil and waterlogged land. This has a direct impact on our food security and farmer livelihoods. Seasons are also arriving sooner than expected and this ecological mismatch could result in precious native wildlife and nature being lost forever.

If you haven’t already been able to contribute to the inquiry, we are still calling for written evidence. Please use the form below to submit written evidence which closes at the end of Thursday 30th April: Call for Evidence: Is the UK prepared? – Fill in form
