Environment APPG brings nature into Parliament for species showcase

The Environment APPG brought together parliamentarians and nature organisations for a special species showcase in Parliament, highlighting some of the UK’s most remarkable species and the work underway to protect and restore them.

From beavers and bison to bats, plants and other threatened wildlife, organisations from across the nature sector brought displays and activities into Parliament, giving MPs and peers the opportunity to hear directly about species conservation and the action needed to support nature’s recovery.

The showcase attracted 13 parliamentarians, including two ministers, alongside representatives from the offices of a further eight parliamentarians, providing an opportunity for conservation organisations to build relationships with parliamentarians and raise the policy changes needed to better protect species and habitats.

The event demonstrated both the breadth of organisations working to restore nature across the UK and the enthusiasm among parliamentarians to engage directly with those leading this work. Thank you to all the organisations that took part and helped make the showcase such an engaging event.
