Environment APPG holds first adaptation inquiry session
On Monday 13th April, the APPG held its first adaptation inquiry oral evidence session in Parliament. The focus of the session was resilience of housing and infrastructure to climate impacts. We heard expert testimony from witnesses representing Flooded People, Zurich, WSP, AtkinsRéalis, ISEP, techUK and UKGBC. The first panel centred around living through flooding and priorities for community support, bringing in a lived experience angle. The second and third were about the resilience of housing infrastructure to extreme weather. Full minutes from the session can be found below.
The second session will be on the 18th of May and will focus on securing food and adapting to nature. Any written evidence can be shared with us here: Fill in form. The deadline for submitting written evidence is the 30th of April. At the end of the inquiry, we will publish a report informed by the information shared, which will include key recommendations.
